Some interesting information about the newlyweds that people may not know.
Winfield Scott Hinkley, Jr. was born on January 30, 1974 in Cocoa Beach, Florida and was raised in Grand Gorge, New York. Dorothy Darlene Beaty was born on January 15, 1978 in Charleston, South Carolina and was raised in Summerville, South Carolina.

First jobs - Wink worked at the family Ford garage, W.S. Hinkley & Sons, at the age of 14, and DeeDee at the Piggly Wiggly at the age of 15.

They first met in August of 2000 through a mutual friend and their first date was at Wink's house where he cooked her dinner.

Their favorite things to do include watching and attending Nascar races and just relaxing at home.

First Home - Had a home built in Indian Springs at Summerville, South Carolina in March of 2001 were they currently reside.

Wink has been in the U. S. Air Force for 9 years.  He has been stationed in Okinawa, Germany, Korea, and is currently stationed in Charleston, South Carolina as a SST.



WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT

Wink and DeeDee wed at the Faith Assembly of God Church in Summerville, South Carolina on September 15, 2001. The Rev. Jason Spears performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy M. Beaty, Jr. of Summerville.  The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Winfield S. Hinkley of Grand Gorge, New York.

Wild flowers in the colors of purple and pink along with white roses decorated the church. Music for the ceremony was provided by Chrissy Beaty, sister of the bride who performed a solo on the flute "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" by Elton John and a vocal solo by friend, Jerry Molina who performed "Me and You" by Kenny Chesney.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore candlelight A-line matte satin gown with a tank sleeve style with a curved bodice and a chapel train, which was designed by Oleg Cassini. The dress front presented with an A-line pleat that was adorned in an alternating pattern of Caviar sequins and beads versus pure satin and flowed through the attached train. The bride wore a two-tier veil with candlelight pencil edging that had a porcelain flower designed comb detachable from the veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses and purple and pink wild flowers.

Michelle Becknell of Charleston, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Jamie Golffin of Charleston, Chrissy Beaty, Amy Burdett, and Fayth Grooms of Summerville, and Tammy Cline of Myrtle Beach. They were dressed alike in black satin gowns with a sheer chiffon wrap draped around their arms. They carried bouquets of wild flowers in the colors of purple and pink along with white roses. Ashley Cline, niece of the bride, Asia Golffin & Alissa Burdette, godchildren of the bride, were all flower girls and Spencer Hinkley, cousin of the bridegroom, was ring bearer. All three flower girls are from South Carolina and the ring bearer is from Grand Gorge, New York. Best man was Dan Hinkley of Florida. Winfield S. Hinkley, Sr., Dom Pucci III, George Proctor and Jamie Proctor of New York as well as Jerry Molina of Summerville were the ushers/groomsmen. A reception after the ceremony was held at the Dorchester Shrine Club in Summerville, South Carolina.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Summerville High School and has also attended Trident Technical College in Charleston. The bridegroom is a 1992 graduate of Roxbury Central School He is working on obtaining his Associate's and then Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland.  

A honeymoon cruise is planned for March of 2002 in the Western Caribbean.
